Heavy rain and strong wind blow electricity post onto car in Thailand
Heavy rain and strong winds blew over an electricity post onto a car in central Thailand.
The pole collapsed onto the black Ford pickup truck in Prachin Buri province, around 100 miles east of the capital Bangkok, on Friday afternoon August 26.
Police said the driver escaped without being hurt following the incident. Witnesses said they were eating lunch at a nearby cafe when the winds suddenly picked up and the posts collapsed.
Thailand experienced widespread flooding this week due to monsoon and low-pressure areas of weather that covered 20,800 hectares of land in the northeastern region, with more than 11,000 hectares of rice fields affected.
The Meteorological Department warned of more heavy rain across the country until Saturday, with severe flooding in 12 provinces.
Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia, such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November
