Flood drags down electricity post sparking transformer explosion
This is the dramatic moment a flood dragged down an electricity post, causing the transformer attached to it to explode.
Footage captured by Mik Thanaporn shows murky water surging underneath a road bridge when the wooden pole was pulled down by the current in Hat Yai, Thailand.
Upon impact, a loud blast echoed in the area, with the voltage regulator and wires emitting intense sparks on November 22.
No one was reportedly injured in the incident.
Floods have inundated several areas in southern Thailand, with Hat Yai in the south of the country one of the worst affected areas.
Thailand experiences torrential rain from September to November each year, as the country reaches the peak of its annual monsoon season.
