Emotional mourners shed a tear after visiting Queen lying in state at Westminster Hall
The first mourners to visit Her Majesty the Queen lying in state after her coffin was transferred from Buckingham Palace on September 14th, departed Westminster Hall after paying their respects.
Several devasted members of the public visibly upset dabbed their eyes with tissues as they left the Parliamentary complex taking in a sharp intake of breath, with a reflective mood in the air as night fell.
Many were dressed in formal black clothing as they bid farewell to the UK's longest reigning - and much-loved monarch.
A million mourners are expected to visit Queen Elizabeth's coffin until 6pm on Sunday evening and are expected to have to wait in line for hours along a 2.5 mile route stretching up from Westminster to Bermondsey.
