A bread obsessed kitten keeps stealing his owner's bagels despite her hiding them in the fridge and he even takes them from the toaster.

When Brianna Christopherson rescued Mando in September 2021, she had no idea she would need to be securing baked goods from his prying paws.

Hilarious footage filmed in February shows the seven-month-old black and white cat walking around Brianna's home with a white bagel wedged between his teeth.

A tickled Brianna tried to get the snack from him but whenever she approached, Mando either ran away or growled at her in defence.

Brianna said: "Mando steals anything that he sees. Anything. Bagels and anything bread related are top picks, and this has been since we brought him home.

"Bagels have been stolen out of bread boxes, the refrigerator, on top of the fridge, out of the toaster as soon as they pop up. Honestly there is no hiding anything from him.

"He carries them around and shows them off to his 6 brothers. If they look at it he growls, if they look at him he hisses, if he sets it down to sniff it he growls the whole time.

"Mando will let me have it easily but the look he gives me is heartbreaking so I just give it back.

"If you are eating he is trying to take the food out of your mouth, literally.

"He loves Cantaloupe, bread, plain noodles - cooked or uncooked - plain white rice, banana pudding, pretty much anything that he can put in his mouth before you can stop him. Which is everything because he is fast.

"He was a rescue, found at four weeks old in a pond covered in leeches. I rescue special needs kitties so when I saw his post I just had to have him.

"Mando has literally been taking other people's belongings since he came home. He hoards hair ties, socks, feathers, bits of cardboard that he tears off of boxes that don't belong to him.

"If you give him anything, it is safe to assume you will never find it again unless you are moving furniture."
