Impressive moment huge mountain glacier falls in Chile
A huge amount of ice falls from a mountain in Queulat National Park, Chile's Patagonia region, as very abnormal temperatures are recorded.
The footage features the scary images of a 200-metre piece of a glacier that collapses into the valley below. People who are there can be heard reacting to the scene in fear and surprise.
The person who captured this moment on camera said: "We are witnessing another sign of glacier retreat and the effects of global warming."
According to Raul Cordero, a climate scientist at the University of Santiago, the frequency of these collapses is troubling.
The impressive descent of ice was filmed on September 12.
