Chinese gamers build intricate 19ft long spaceship model based on 'Star Citizen' video game
Chinese gamers have built an intricate spaceship model based on the in-development video game 'Star Citizen'.
The impressive toy aircraft measures roughly 19ft long and is fitted with futuristic railguns and glowing blue lights in its engine.
The space vessel called 'Retribution' - one of the largest battleships in-game, according to the Star Citizen compendium - was displayed at the launch of the community's 'virtual bar' in Chongqing, China on September 25.
It was made out of UV curable resin, with some of the parts created using 3d printers.
The painstaking project reportedly took two months to build through the combined efforts of some 27 members of the Star Citizen China community.
A representative for the group said: 'We wanted to create something great for the first Bar Citizen event in China, and it is also a present for the Star Citizen global community.'
Star Citizen first began as an online crowdfunding campaign in 2012. It has since made a staggering 500 million USD since its inception, but no official release date has been announced.
