Pakistan’s farmers are still counting their losses from the devastating floods that have put a third of the country under water, but the long-term impact is already clear.

Interview translations:
1. Ashraf Bhanbhro, a farmer with large land holding (male, Urdu, 27sec):
“We have one-month time only, if water is not discharged in that period, there would no wheat, they would be famine. We incurred huge expenses on the crops, about 120,000 rupees per acre on cotton, it all went in vain. We got ruined now we have gone 50 years back."
2. Latif Dinno, a small farmer (male, Urdu, 13sec):
"We borrowed money from the banks to sow the cotton crop, let's forget about cotton, but now even the (upcoming) wheat crop cannot be sown."
3. Waseem Ahmed, a trader (male, Urdu, 11sec):
"Everybody has suffered his own losses on account of hedging cotton yields. I paid an advance of 10 million rupees ($46,511), and not a single penny has been recovered so far."
