Three Thai men have been arrested for posing in lingerie outside a Buddhist temple.

The group was spotted wearing their provocative, skimpy outfits as they posed with their motorcycles in full view of devotees at the Luang Por Sothon chapel in Chachoengsao province, Thailand, on November 17.

They carried on showing off in front of shocked visitors before police officers arrived and escorted them away.

Offended locals expressed their anger on social media and complained to police officers about the public indecency that took place in the religious area.

Onlooker Top Padrew said: ‘There were many tourists at the temple when it happened. The group offended many of the Buddhists who were there to worship.

'One of them was even wearing a see-through net top with their whole chest exposed. I hope they get karma for not respecting the temple.'

Flower shop owner Wassana Bunsong said: ‘At first I thought they were harmless tourists, but after seeing their clothes, I couldn't bear to watch them

'These people should come and apologise to the Buddha and the monks inside the temple. I think it's too easy for them to just say sorry online and just move on with their lives.'

Police Lieutenant Thanawat Thongcharoen, deputy inspector of the Chachoengsao police station, said: ‘From investigations, we found that the three men are 18-year-old college students who had traveled from Bangkok to Chachoengsao.

'The students said that the temple was a popular area, so they thought the photo shoot would be a good idea. They have already made a video apologising to the public and promised to not repeat the same mistake.'
