There were emotional scenes and touching moments when US soldiers were reunited with their loved ones as they returned home for the holidays after a nine-month deployment.

The footage filmed on December 21 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, shows the soldiers getting off the bus with family and friends running towards them to hug them.

The troops had come home after serving a nine-month deployment to the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt in support of a multinational force there.

The footage was obtained from the Pennsylvania National Guard, along with a statement: "US Soldiers with 1st Battalion, 109th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division arrive home to Pennsylvania in time for the holidays after serving a nine-month deployment to the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt in support of Multinational Force and Observers.
The Soldiers arrived at Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport before reuniting with their loved ones at the Armed Forces Reserve Centre in Scranton."
