A group of locals in Baranovichi, Belarus, attempted to stop a driverless car that was moving around in circles on a street.

Footage from January 15 shows the passersby trying to halt the vehicle before it hit another car or a person.

Regional traffic police revealed that the car's handbrake wasn't lifted and that the owner had a remote control that accidentally launched the vehicle.

People in Baranovichi saw a moving car that didn't have a driver, and they pushed it down the street. It was found out that the car's owner had left it near the store without lifting the handbrake and then gone shopping. Regional traffic police say that he had a remote control in his pocket that he accidentally pressed, which made the car move.

Thankfully, the situation was defused when concerned passersby pulled over the car. No one was hurt, and the cars weren't damaged. The negligent driver has been held accountable by the proper authorities.
