Fog engulfs Mohe, China's 'North Pole' that has recorded its coldest-ever temperature
Freezing fog engulfed a city in northern China as it recorded the country's coldest temperature ever.
Video filmed in the city of Mohe in Heilongjiang Province on January 22 shows the visibility on a road due to the freezing fog.
The city, known as China's "North Pole", recorded a record-breaking temperature of minus 53 degrees Celsius on January 22. This is also the lowest temperature recorded by the Chinese meteorological system.
The city's previous record was minus 52.3 degrees Celsius in 1969. The city's latest cold snap was around 20 degrees Celsius lower than normal.
