This footage was filmed and produced 8 February 2023.

This footage shows the rescue of an 18-month-old baby girl who was left alone for almost 2 days, buried in the rubble of a building destroyed in the Turkish earthquake. The infant was found during rescue work in Hatay in the Kahramanmaras-centered earthquake, and emergency officials said the youngster had been pulled out alive 44 hours later. According to officials, she is named Masal, which also means fairy tale, with many sharing the fact that the child escaped almost unharmed was a fairytale happy ending.

Hatay was badly hit in the 7.7 and 7.6 earthquakes in Kahramanmaras, leaving many buildings destroyed. Rescue efforts by domestic and foreign teams to the region continue with the search, and the risk of the child in this video was carried out by the Mugla Metropolitan Municipality Firefighters, who went to the region from Mugla and successfully located the child in the rubble.
It was learned that the baby girl was delivered to the medical teams immediately and was in surprisingly good health, given her ordeal.

Meanwhile, search and rescue efforts on the building and others in the region continue with the latest death toll indicating that more than 17,000 people have died in Turkey and Syria as a result of the quake and over 60,000 were injured. There are currently almost 25,000 Turkish emergency workers, including soldiers on the ground looking for survivors, and almost 6000 that are flown in specialist equipment and training from abroad. An additional 5000 vehicles in the region include excavators, tractors, cranes, dozers, trucks, water trucks, trailers, graders and vacuum trucks.
