One year of war: Ukrainian refugees form human chain and hold prayer service for peace and those who killed

A year has passed since Russia's invasion of Ukraine killed tens of thousands of civilians and reduced cities to rubble. Ukrainian refugees living in Thessaloniki Greece formed a human chain around the White Tower of Thessaloniki sending a message on the first anniversary of Russia's invasion.

With the slogan, "exactly one year later, we unite our hands, hearts, and voices, against the war", the Ukrainian refugees formed a human chain around the White Tower, landmark of Thessaloniki, in solidarity with Ukraine. The Community of Ukrainians in Thessaloniki, who came as refugees to Thessaloniki, "tied" their hands around the White Tower wanting to send a resounding message, that they are here and they are united.

"Long live Ukraine" is one of their characteristic slogans while they held Ukrainian and Greek flags, wore traditional costumes, held placards with the peace sign, and shouted slogans such as "Europe save our children". while they send their solidarity to their country and their own people there.

At the same time, cars with Ukrainian flags flying passed by the spot honking their horns.

Earlier a memorial service was held in the cathedral of Thessaloniki for the victims of the war and the hope for peace.
