A jealous Golden Retriever dog slapped a puppy in the face because it was getting all the attention.

The one-year-old brown pooch Mavy was playing in the bedroom when her owner picked up the smaller two-month-old pet Marley in Pasig City, the Philippines, on February 18.

Mavy sprung up to snuggle with the woman's legs while being given a rub on the neck until the unexpected happened.

Footage shows Mavy using his paws to lightly hit the puppy on the cheek.

Pet owner Karla Mikhaela Asistido said: ‘I was with my family in the bedroom we were just relaxing with our dogs. I filmed them because they looked sweet.

‘But moments later, Mavy funnily hit Marley because he was jealous of the smaller pup. The puppy is his son, too.'
