A skillful grandmother slid down a slippery handrail to easily descend hundreds of steps at a Buddhist temple.

Footage shows the agile pensioner named Taew, 68, smoothly gliding down the pole when she was tired of walking the stairs in Lopburi province, Thailand, on January 23.

The woman said she visits the Wat Khao Wong Phrachan temple every morning to pray and exercise, but she has an easier way to reach home using a rice sack.

Aunt Taew places the object between her tummy and the metal before sliding down with it which cut her travel time by half.

Onlooker Nuanchutha said: ‘We always buy at her store. Every morning she will be around here, sliding down the handrails with her sack. She is such a creative grandma.'
