A cat was rescued after getting stuck in an awkward position between a window and a cupboard.

The curious stray squeezed through the narrow gap while looking for a way out of the office building in Maha Sarakham province, Thailand on March 8.

Workers heard the feline crying and first saw its left hind leg sticking out of the space like an acrobat.

Footage shows the orange cat with one hind leg up on its back while its head touched the windowsills as it was trapped in the cramped gap.

Employee Supattra Namkhao said: ‘We felt so sorry for the cat. Its tongue was even hanging out, probably after staying in that position for a while.'

A white stray was seen waiting outside the room. Supattra said it could be the cat's friend.

She added: ‘We helped remove the cat from behind the cupboard and released it outside.'
