Sao Paulo signs cooperation with NGOs to bring social and urban development to favelas on April 5th, 2023.

Agreement with Gerando Falcões is premised on incorporating actions from the Favela 3D project in communities in Sao Paulo.

The Government of SP agreed on a cooperation to build measures that lead to social and urban development for the state's favelas. This Wednesday, Governor Tarcísio de Freitas formalized a protocol of intentions with the NGO Gerando Falcoes to incorporate actions of the Favela 3D project in the State through state public policies.

Favela 3D involves the implementation of interdisciplinary actions in favelas, through partnerships with private institutions and state and municipal public entities, in addition to the involvement of local communities.

“We are focused on building the bridges to the future, the bridges to opportunity. And now, with Favela 3D, we are realizing that we can actually transform the favela into a place of prosperity. We are going to make Favela 3D the biggest Brazilian program for eradicating poverty, for emancipation, for transforming this space, which is so rich”, said Governor Tarcísio de Freitas.

The partnership between the Government of SP and Gerando Falcoes involves the joint construction of a public policy to act to reduce social inequality in the State of Sao Paulo, aimed especially at informal urban centers. The main pillars of the new policy will be the provision of decent housing and urban and socioeconomic development to overcome poverty in these territories.

Furthermore, the proposed policy will have as axes the provision of public housing and urban services; income generation; social and digital development; culture, sport and leisure; early childhood; citizenship and culture of peace; access to health; women's autonomy; and education.
The agreement will be valid for 180 days and may be extended by the signatories. There will be no transfer of resources between the parties and the activities will be provided in a mutual cooperation regime. The extract from the protocol of intentions will be published in the Official State Gazette (DOE) in the coming days.
