United States - November 05, 2025 Foothills, Colorado – A large bear caused a stir when it became trapped inside a resident’s vehicle in the foothills, prompting a response from Larimer County sheriff’s deputies. Authorities described the situation as a “bear-icade,” with the first deputy on scene confirming that a bear was indeed inside the car. “The first arriving deputy confirmed the claws for concern: a bear was, indeed, inside the vehicle (and he wasn't thrilled about the situation either),” the sheriff’s office said. Deputies devised a safe method to open the vehicle, rigging a handle release mechanism that allowed the bear to exit without harm. The animal was freed, ending the unusual late-night ordeal. “The owners were very appreciative, despite the damage inflicted by their clawstrophobic visitor. It's unclear what exactly motivated this late-night visit — there wasn't any food stored in the car,” authorities added. They also issued a reminder: always lock vehicles to prevent intrusions by wildlife or other unexpected guests.
