Man shoots gun at police during Nashville traffic stop

A man identified as Demond Buchanan was taken into custody after an exchange of gunfire during a traffic stop on Dickerson Pike in Nashville, Tennessee on April 4.

The police tried to stop the vehicle being driven by Buchanan, who attempted to flee, and was eventually disabled by officers. As Buchanan got out of the car, he fired at the officers, who returned fire.

Body-cam footage released by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department shows the incident. Buchanan was found to have 13 outstanding warrants and was charged with 17 offenses, including several counts of aggravated assault on a first responder.

No one was injured.
