A friendly stray dog sat in a classroom while pupils sang a song.

Footage shows the pooch Alyanna in the middle of the adorable kids while they waved to a goodbye rhyme before leaving for home in Northern Samar province, the Philippines on March 6.

The creature silently watched as the youngsters wearing tiny backpacks sang ‘farewell to you now' before pointing to their friends.

Teacher Vieper Chrisiel Duroy said the dog started coming to the school during the pandemic.

She said: ‘We named her Alyanna. When the school closed due to Covid-19, she would come here.

‘She continued to visit us even after the kids returned to school She's really friendly.'

The teacher added that everytime the kids do an activity, Alyanna would stay to watch.

She said: ‘Almost all the students know her. She's like an adopted dog of the whole school.'
