Elephants remove fallen tree blocking traffic during storm
This is the moment elephants removed a fallen tree causing traffic after being blown down by a storm in Thailand.
Video shows the helpful jumbos carrying the obstacle out of the road amid heavy rain in Phrae province on April 23.
Elephant handler Khun Weerawat said: 'We were travelling to Chaiyaphum province, but while we were in Phrae, there was a section of the road obstructed by a tree. We couldn't drive past so we had the elephants remove it.'
Thailand has an estimated 2,000 Asian elephants living in the wild - down from 100,000 a century ago - and around 3,000 in captivity owned privately. In the wild they are seen wandering freely among protected forests, occasionally appearing on the roads that run through them.
