Pet rescue dog enjoys fun rides standing on top of truck's bonnet
This adventurous rescue dog enjoys fun rides - standing on top of a truck's bonnet in Thailand.
The brown pooch named Berm, 2, was saved from the streets and now lives at the Wat Luang Phor Sod Dhammakayaram temple in Ratchaburi province after it was abandoned by its previous owner.
Footage shows how Berm expectantly wags his tail upon seeing a driver inside its favourite pick-up truck. When he hears the engine starting, Berm immediately hops onto the bonnet to stand proudly like a patrol dog as the vehicle made rounds in the temple.
Phra Maha Chaowalit Rojanathammo, the abbot's assistant, said: 'When Berm was about one year old, he started to grow and was often chased by older dogs at the temple. To escape them, he found his way onto the car's hood.'
He added that Berm initially had trouble balancing on the moving truck, but has learned to steady itself. The pooch, when it isn't sleeping in the temple, now makes regular patrol trips in the morning, noon, and at night riding the truck.
Maha said: 'Berm is a friendly dog who is not aggressive and likes to play with everyone. He loves to hop on the temple's cars and motorcycles. His only annoying habit is that he has a tendency to gnaw on his collars.'
He said temple visitors are always welcome to see Berm.
