A Eurovision superfan - who has never been to the song contest - burst into tears when her daughter surprised her with tickets to the live semi-finals.

Ayamé, 26, who didn't wish to reveal her last name, and her mum, Sarah, 53, are huge fans of the singing competition.

Sarah has watched the performances every year for the last 26 years - but had never seen it live.

So, when Ayamé was invited to attend the semi-finals by TikTok, she instantly knew who she would ask to join her.

Ayamé surprised her mum with the news and Sarah burst into tears.

Ayamé, a content creator, from west London, said: "I begged and begged and begged Tiktok to let me take my mum."

"I had made quite a lot of content with her and it filmed well, so they said yes."

The pair attended the first semi-final on May 9 and the second on May 11.

Sarah, a historian, had the time of her life and was even able to meet with former Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst - who represented Austria and came in first place in 2014.

Mum Sarah said: "I kept having to pinch myself that I was actually there. "

"I had the most amazing time beyond anything I'd ever dreamed of. "

"I have been a Eurovision fan since my childhood so to see it there live and for Ayamé to arrange it all is the most amazing surprise."

Ayamé added: "She had an amazing time."

"Overall, the experience was great."

"She met Conchita and she even cried."

"She was giddy with excitement the entire week."

"My mum and I are very close. It's almost like a friendship."

"Eurovision was very prevalent in my childhood so I just had to go with her."

"I'm very happy that I was able to share this experience with her as opposed to anyone else."

"As we were leaving, she told me that we need to go every single year from here on out."

"She's set on this being her Eurovision experience from now on."

The pair won't be going to the final, but Sarah isn't disappointed as she can honour her yearly tradition of attending a watch party.

Ayamé said: "She had prior engagements."

"She goes to a Eurovision watch party every year with her friends."

"She'll be dressed as Finland this year."
