Members of the Hawaii National Guard Joint Task Force 50, along with US Army soldiers, conducted relief operations as the death toll in Maui wildfires rose to at least 101.

The personnel were loaded onto UH-47 Chinook helicopters at the Kualoa Airfield in Oahu on August 13 to assist responders in providing relief to impacted residents in the community.

More soldiers arrived at the Kahului Airport in Maui on August 14.

Hawaii Governor Josh Green said that at least 101 people were confirmed dead in the fires as of August 15. More are feared dead as rescue crews comb through the ravaged communities.
