Hong Kong will continue to actively collaborate with Shenzhen to promote the advantages of the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone under the principle of "one zone, two parks" underpinned by the "one country, two systems" principle.

John Lee, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), made the remarks on Monday at a financial forum held by Sing Tao News Corporation Limited.

"The HKSAR government thanks the central government and the Shenzhen municipal government for their strong support to the development of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone. Hong Kong will continue to actively collaborate with Shenzhen to promote the advantages of the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone under the principle of the 'one zone, two parks' underpinned by the 'one country, two systems' principle. And the city will support the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) international innovation and technology center, and build an international innovation talent port for the GBA."

The forum, featuring themes including "China's Macro Economy" and "Hong Kong's Integration with the Greater Bay Area," gathered people from all walks of life in Hong Kong to discuss the opportunities for coordinated economic development of the GBA. More than 280 people attended the forum.
