In the '90s, Madonna popularized the voguing culture with the song "Vogue", which at that time was only known in African-American and Latino balls in Harlem.

In Argentina, this movement began in 2016, mainly in gay parties in the City of Buenos Aires, and from its beginnings it was, at the same time, a space of resistance and celebration by being a place where dissident sexualities, brown and other identities that were historically marginalized are given visibility.

Last Friday, September 8, in the dome of the Kirchner Cultural Center (CCK), the closing of Escuela Ballroom took place with the mini ball "A bancar los trapos", coordinated by Casas Traviarca, Exilia, Wicca, Glorieta and 007, after having held throughout the year a series of classes aimed at learning the details of this artistic manifestation, which is already a trend among the LGBTIQ+ community and works as a space of resistance to discrimination and marginalization.
