A Thai girl pulled off an epic piece of football skill that would be the envy of Premier League stars.

Yanisa Songkun, 19, was playing in a university five-a-side game when she received a looping ball that she expertly controlled on her instep.

However, the next piece of footwork left her opponent with her head spinning.

The number 21 stepped forward while rolling the ball between her legs with her right foot. As she turned, her left foot pushed the ball one way, only for her to tap it back to her right foot and accelerate away.

Showing the kind of desire seen in her favourite team Manchester City, Yanisa played the ball to a winger in space before sprinting into the box and converting the cross to make the score 5-0.

Yanisa was given the Player of the Match award for scoring all of the goals in the match at Chiang Mai University in northern Thailand on September 15.

The football-mad teenager said: 'I practiced this move at home so I was happy to use it in a game. Then when I scored it was the best feeling.

'I want to be a professional and play in England. I will keep studying and playing football to improve and be the best that I can be. My dream is to play for Manchester City.'

Female football in Thailand has grown significantly in recent years, both in terms of popularity and performance. The Thai women's national team is the most successful women's national football team in Southeast Asia, having won the AFF Women's Championship ten times and the Asian Cup once. They have also qualified for the FIFA Women's World Cup twice, in 2015 and 2019.

The domestic women's football league, the Thai Women's League (TWL), was established in 2006 and has grown from six teams to 12 teams.

The TWL is now one of the most competitive women's football leagues in Asia, and has produced a number of world-class players, such as Kanjana Sung-Ngoen, Nisa Romyen, and Suchawadee Nildhamrong.
