Japan: Railway Enthusiasts And Locals Welcome Test Run Of Bullet Train Service Expansion In Hokuriku Region
Locals and railway fans alike flocked to stations on the extension route of a bullet train service in the Hokuriku region to see the W7 series train.
Ceremonies in each station between Kanazawa and Tsuruga were held on October 1 to welcome the W7 series bullet train that will be used for the Hokuriku Shinkansen extension route, which will open on March 16 next year. Japan Railways had been carrying out test runs since September 23 using a test train but started using the iconic W7 series for test runs beginning on the 26th.
