A man has left social media users in tears after he was filmed crying while getting a tattoo of his late cat – all while being serenaded by the artist.

Alessandro Capozzi, also known as Alex Aureo, has over half a million followers on Instagram (@alessandro_capoz), where he frequently shares his ink work.

The 28-year-old, who lives between Rome, Los Angeles and NYC, recently saw one of his videos go viral due to the strong reaction from a customer receiving a tattoo of a pet.

In the clip, a man, who is not named, can be seen tearing up as Alessandro – who likes to sing to his clients – belts out a few lines from Lewis Capaldi’s "Someone You Loved".

The customer begins to get teary and asks to grab a tissue, saying he is “getting emotional” as Alessandro asks if it is about the man’s feline.

Moments later, the man adds: “Your voice is amazing, this is a very special moment for me.”

The video has over 884,000 likes so far.

Explaining why he sings to his clients, Alessandro, who opened his own studio in Rome at just 21, said: “I always did it [sang for my clients].

“Since the very start of my career.

“I was a little more shy at the start, but now I just made it part of my tattoo sessions.

“It always happens when I feel in the ‘zone’.

“Some of them [customers] get emotional. Some of them cry; some sing along.

“It's exciting to see how they react!

“I feel like they never expect it and most of them tell me it helps them relax during the tattoo session.

“One of the craziest reactions I’ve had was this amazing middle-aged man; he started crying and got emotional because of the whole experience.”

Social media users certainly seem to agree, with thousands of comments on the Instagram post.

“The fact that he's there getting a tattoo for his cat already shows he's a real one. And respectfully, I think he's very handsome,” said Lily Gilbert.

“A man crying for his dead pet is such a green flag,” added Abelina.

“Cat tattoo.. willing to compliment another man.. showing emotions .. we love this king,” said someone else.

“Oh this man is a keeper! Meow,” added another person.

Lukas added: “This is the content I love to see. Green flags for both sides of the interaction.”

Amy said: “When men are tender and compassionate with each other, it’s truly beautiful. Wish it was far more common. I think that’s how we heal. So glad you were a safe space for him.”

“Your voice is amazing man,” said someone else.

Akshay added: “Man. Love this so much.”

But not everyone is a fan of Alessandro singing during tattoo sessions.

Lina said: “If I started singing during tattooing my clients they would leave and never come back lmaooooo.” [sic]

Overall however, people seem to be fans of the unusual customer experience.

Alessandro, who says he has a “very big waiting list” for his ink, hopes to become a professional singer in the future and release a number-one hit song.

Speaking about singing during sessions, he added: “So far the response is 99 percent positive and in person everybody is happy!

“I don't sing every single time, though.

“I need to feel the right kind of energy with the client to do it.

I love to hear people's stories. So many of them have faced extremely hard situations; so many of them have lost people they love, or faced depression.

“And the tattoo would always be the final art piece that showed them how they overcame those obstacles.

“I ask my clients what moved them to get something forever on their body, for the world to see.”
