Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday said that his government would not accept the Israeli bombing of mosques, hospitals, and civilian settlement areas in Gaza, warning against further escalation of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

Erdogan, addressing a business forum in Istanbul broadcast live by the NTV television, criticized Israel for cutting off the electricity, water, and food supplies in Gaza, where more than 2 million people live.

He added that Türkiye sent a plane that landed at al-Arish airport in Egypt early on Friday, carrying medicine, food, and medical equipment to be delivered to Gaza.

"We will continue to deliver our humanitarian aid to Gaza. We invite all parties to first negotiate a ceasefire and then a permanent peace," Erdogan said.

The Turkish leader also assured that the Israeli embassy and diplomatic missions in Türkiye were under protection.
