Israeli tanks and trucks in the border area with Gaza
This footage was filmed and produced 17 October 2023.
At a time of maximum tension, Israel continues to prepare its ground invasion of the Gaza Strip. A military operation that has raised many doubts in the international community due to the effects on the population and the complexity that entering such a difficult area would entail.
The last authoritative voice to address this issue has been the president of the United States. Joe Biden participated in an interview on the CBS network that was recorded last Thursday, October 12, and which aired this Sunday night, October 15. The support of Americans like Israel, one of its strongest partners, has been unwavering since the armed conflict began.
However, now the American leader raises his doubts about this more than possible invasion. Joe Biden warns that it would be "a big mistake" to reoccupy the Gaza Strip, although he also points out that it is inevitable to combat terrorist groups. "Hamas and the extreme elements of Hamas do not represent the entire Palestinian people. Going in to eliminate the extremists, (the Lebanese Shiite militia party) Hezbollah in the north and Hamas in the south, is a necessary requirement," the politician stated.
