VARIOUS OF EMPTY TRUCKS MOVING GAZA, PALESTINE - JUNE 25, 2025: United Nations aid trucks crossed into Gaza through the Israeli-controlled Zikim border crossing on Wednesday, June 25. The trucks reportedly reached the warehouses in northern Gaza, delivering food supplies to help alleviate the territory’s worsening humanitarian crisis. Since May 27, Israel has launched a new aid initiative in Gaza through the so-called "Gaza Relief Foundation," supported by the US and Israel, bypassing the UN. Many Palestinians see it as an effort to forcibly relocate people from northern to southern Gaza. Meanwhile, Israel has kept Gaza's main border crossings sealed since March 2, allowing only a limited number of trucks to enter. The enclave requires a minimum of 500 aid trucks per day to meet basic needs. Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing over 56,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
