This is the freak moment a small van jumps off the road and lands on a passing motorcyclist as its wheels bounce off a raised manhole cover.

the incident was captured on CCTV cameras in Guangzhou, in Guangdong Province, southern China at around 1:10 am on November 16.

In the video, the small seven-seater can be seen travelling down a narrow street. But it suddenly ran over a protruding manhole cover, causing its left front wheel to sink into the hole.

The vehicle then jolted upwards and tilted onto its side before landing right on a delivery rider who happened to be passing by.

Astonishingly, the rider survived and only suffered minor injuries.

The van also suffered minimal damage, according to local media. After the traffic police registered the case, both parties left the scene.

It remains unclear whether the manhole had since been properly closed or if police cordoned off the area to prevent other accidents.
