A traveller captured a mesmerising fog-to-blue-sky moment in northwestern China.

The incredible video was filmed in Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on November 13. As the vehicle pressed on, the thick fog suddenly dissipated, unveiling a breathtaking panorama. The once-obscured sky transformed into a crystal-clear blue expanse, while majestic snow-covered mountains emerged from the mist.

In an instant, the passengers in the car were left in sheer astonishment, unable to contain their gasps of wonderment.

Astute netizens quickly pointed out that this extraordinary phenomenon was attributed to the high altitude of Sayram Lake, which stands proudly at more than two thousand metres above sea level.

The car recorder showed the highway was surrounded by thick fog, and according to the filmer, they had been driving in the fog since they set off for their destination, Sayram Lake.

Just as they were worried that today's trip might be fruitless, the fog around them lifted in a flash as the vehicle moved forward, revealing a clear blue sky and a view of snow-covered mountains, prompting the filmer and his companion to let out a gasp of amazement.

According to netizens, the scenario is caused by the altitude of Sayram Lake, which is above two thousand meters.
