A woman who received backlash over her extreme Christmas displays has revealed this year’s theme – and it’s her biggest to date.

When Hannah Cox debuted her show-stopping festive door last year, she didn’t expect to receive a Scrooge-esque response from her neighbours.

The professional wreath maker, who adorned the front entrance of her home with £700 worth of pink decorations, created an ode to the Nutcracker with a six-foot tall model of the doll.

Now, eager to make a comeback, the 31-year-old has revealed her theme for this year: a gingerbread bakery – costing £500 – and she doesn’t care what others think.

“I wanted the display to be even bigger this year,” Hannah, from Somerset, told http://NeedToKnow.co.uk .

“It’s not to everyone’s taste, but I put a lot of effort in to make it look super festive and fun.

“I know at least one household who doesn’t like it, but that just makes me want to do it more.

“Only three houses on the street can actually see my door as we’re at the end of the road, so I feel [that] they are being a little petty.

“Christmas is meant to be magical and fun.”

Hannah originally planned on creating a Grinch theme for her comeback, but settled on the gingerbread bakery to avoid making a “stubborn” joke about her neighbours.

Now, after three days of solid work, the final reveal is here, which she posted on Instagram, (@artificial_hannah ), to her 60,800 followers.

In the clip, which has racked up 16,000 views and hundreds of likes, she shared the process behind the one-of-a-kind festive display.

She begins with sanding down her green door, before painting it a caramel brown, along with white dots.

Hannah then adds a white border, with red stripes on top and includes a gingerbread bauble amongst a red and green candy themed wreath.

As the final product is revealed, other decorations including a sign post reading: “Gingerbread ST”, a gingerbread house doormat and an arch created in the same theme as the wreath are revealed.

The 31-year-old has previously created a spring flower display, as well as a pumpkin spiced theme – but this is her biggest one yet.

Aside from disgruntled neighbours, the professional wreath maker has also been accused of wasting money and materials with her extreme decorations.

She added: “The 2022 nutcracker was raffled off to charity and the proceeds went to a Somerset cancer equipment charity.

“All my odd flowers get donated to children’s craft clubs as well.

“I always give back to the community after a big display.

“I just like to be different with decorating, it works great for advertising what I can do.

“I make the designs up in my head and change the door colour every year.

“It’s faux and high quality – and it’s all re-usable.

“This year, I used four different types of pine and spruce – all faux – and I’ll add this to next year’s display.

“The sweets can be made into smaller wreaths and the street signpost is from my pumpkin spiced theme display, which I painted over.

“So I’ll most likely repurpose everything again next time – but I’m not sure on the theme yet.”
