A digital lock ‘ghost' was seen bizarrely inputting the password by itself at the gate of a home.

Footage shows the lock screen controls seemingly being tapped on as a resident passed by in Liaoning province, China on July 14.

Neighbour Gao Han who saw the incident said the error could be due to the security device's programming going haywire - but it still gave him a fright.

He said: 'It was quite spooky. I thought a ghost was trying to enter.'
