This is the scene at Wat Thammagai, in Pathumthani, Thailand. Thousands of flowers are grown and harvested at this temple ever year in December-January. The flowers are picked by local volunteers and monks, the petals are later used in ceremonies. In one of the most famous ceremonies the petals are used to create a walkway for a procession of thousands of monks. They walk barefooted on the petals, its an amazing sight to see. They used to do it on public streets in Pathumthani area a few years ago, but due to huge disruption to traffic I believe they now do it at the temple grounds, which are very extensive.
