This stunning bell tower was built using 7,500 jars in northeast Thailand.

The awesome 50ft structure was made entirely out of dragon jars and sits on the grounds of the Wat Trakhlong temple in Maha Sarakham province.

Columns and rows of the clay containers were painstakingly glued together to create the spectacular domed building, including a spiral staircase and second storey floor that can support several people.

Temple monks ring the bells to alert everyone for the morning prayers.

Phra Atikarn Adun Chayanuntho, Wat Trakhlong temple abbot, said the bell tower was built in 2010 and designed by the previous chief monk. Devotees had donated thousands of clay jars of different sizes, and a total of 600,000 THB (16,200 USD) was spent on construction materials.

He said: 'The dragon jars were used because they were beautiful and believers could put coins or sacred objects for people in the future to study. It could also help attract tourists due to its uniqueness.'

Also at the temple was another Buddhist shrine which was adorned with 2,500 jars.
