He is Andy D`Cruz, an artist, who fears of being evicted by Hackney Council together with 7 colleagues from their studio above Stoke Newington Library after 20 years due to the £4.4m refurbishment work.
The Council handed to them an eviction notice to evacuate the studio by the end of December and later on a second notice it was postponed till May of next year. They knew this day would come but had expected to have been invited into discussions with the council.
The group is hoping to secure a long-term affordable space, so the artists can continue their work in the area. For Jonathan and Richard, who have also been working with local schools and community groups at Stoke Newington, being forced to leave Hackney makes them feel pessimistic about the future as artists.
If it is necessary they are considering taking actions as a group of artists against the eviction.
However for Jonathan it is on behalf of society to make a decision.

Stoke Newington Library was built in 1892, and the renovation work on Stoke Newington will see repairs made to the interior and exterior of the Grade 2 listed building. It is hoped the work will be completed by 2025.
