STORYLINE:

The Changtai Yangtze River Bridge, connecting Changzhou and Taizhou in east China's Jiangsu Province, witnessed a breakthrough in its construction as the channel bridge on the Changzhou side completed closure on Friday.

Spanning 388 meters between two main pylons, the channel bridge is a dual-purpose steel truss arch bridge integrating the functions of highways and intercity railways.

The Changtai Yangtze River Bridge has a main bridge that spans 1,208 meters and two channel bridges on each side of the river. The channel bridge on the Taizhou side was completed in December last year.

The Changtai Yangtze River Bridge started construction in 2019 and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2025.

The completion of the bridge will be of great significance for better serving the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
