STORYLINE:

The 22nd Dhaka International Film Festival was inaugurated on Saturday and will last until Sunday this week.

Seventeen Chinese films including "The Wandering Earth II" are screened at the film festival.

"The picture shows that the Chinese are very beautiful and wonderful. There is an independent spirit in Chinese culture. The attitude of working independently and self-reliance from childhood is beautifully presented by the director here. 
There is a lot to learn, how to use talent. A director has done it. I really thank that director. I thank all the filmmakers who participated here, both domestic and foreign."
   
The Dhaka International Film Festival is the first batch to join the Belt and Road Film Festival Alliance, which was launched by Shanghai International Film Festival in 2018.

"At this time this year, for the first time, we organized a Chinese film delegation to Dhaka to show our Chinese films, and do a series of activities such as meeting, master class, script lab, and women's film forum. 
We believe that there will be further exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Bangladeshi filmmakers in the future. We also hope that in the future, our cooperation results can be echoed by a wider audience, including local audiences in Bangladesh."
   
The theme of the 22nd Dhaka International Film Festival is "Better Film, Better Audience, and Better Society."
   
The festival has been organized regularly by Rainbow Film Society, an organization dedicated to the promotion of a healthy cine culture in Bangladesh and celebrating the global mainstream in film and its social relevance since 1977.
