Coast Guard Inspectors Rescue Dog Trapped For a Week in Container in Houston, TX, USA

A team of marine inspectors from Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston successfully rescued a dog that had been trapped inside a shipping container on January 31, 2024, near Houston, Texas. The inspectors, including MST3 Bryan Qainscott, MST1 Lucas Loe, MST2 Ryan McMahon, and MST3 Jose Reyes, were conducting routine inspections aboard a cargo ship when they heard barking and scratching coming from one of the containers. Upon opening the container, they were surprised to find a dog inside.
The inspectors named the canine "Connie the Container Dog" and provided her with water and attention before taking her to a local animal shelter where she could receive proper care. The dog had been trapped inside the container for at least one week before being discovered and rescued by the vigilant Coast Guard inspectors.
