Chinese company lets staff pick banknotes from table in annual bonus game
A company has an innovative method for its employees to earn their year-end bonuses by introducing a game in which they can collect as many banknotes as they can count.
Staff at the Henan Mine Crane Co., Ltd, located in the city of Xinxiang, in Henan, China, stand next to a 164ft long table at the centre of the venue on February 5.
They then gather as many CNY 100 (GBP 11) banknotes as possible from a vast array spread out on the table.
The employees had the opportunity to take home the amount of money they counted within various time intervals, ranging from one to 15 minutes, determined by a lottery draw.
However, according to the game's rules, a sum of CNY 1,000 (GBP 110) was subtracted for every incorrectly counted banknote. The firm had deployed 20 money counters to verify the collected cash.
Reportedly, all 5,000 employees of the company were invited to participate in the game, with the total bonus amounting to CNY 100 million (GBP11 million).
Chinese media claimed that one lucky worker was able to bag nearly CNY100,000 (GBP 11,000).
According to reports, this was not the company's first try gaining attention for its generous year-end bonus programme, as in the previous year it distributed CNY 61 million (GBP 6.7 million) to 40 employees who demonstrated outstanding performance.
The three top sales people each received CNY 5 million (GBP 551,000) afterthey reportedly sold more than CNY 100 million (GBP 11 million) worth of products throughout the year, said a staff member surnamed Feng.

It has additionally been hosting yearly filial piety gatherings for employees parents, leading to its founder, Cui Peijun, being dubbed as 'China's most generous boss.'
