PSG Ordered to Pay Mbappé €60m in Salary and Bonus Dispute. Paris Saint-Germain were ordered by a French court to pay former striker Kylian Mbappé €60 million in unpaid salary and bonuses. The ruling came after Mbappé brought the case to a Paris labour court, where he had initially sought €263 million in damages from his former club. PSG had counter-sued the France captain for €240 million, but the court awarded Mbappé just over a fifth of the amount he claimed. Judges found that PSG failed to pay three months of salary between April and June 2024, as well as an ethics bonus and a signing bonus. Most of the €60 million awarded was believed to be linked to bonuses rather than unpaid wages. Mbappé’s legal team welcomed the ruling, saying it confirmed that contractual obligations must be respected, even in professional football. PSG said it would comply with the judgement but reserved the right to appeal, maintaining it had acted in good faith throughout the dispute. The long-running conflict followed Mbappé’s refusal to extend his contract and his eventual free transfer to Real Madrid after seven trophy-filled years in Paris.
