Five individuals were found deceased by San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies Tuesday night. In an update Wednesday, the sheriff's department announced the discovery of another deceased person.

Deputies were requested to respond to an area off Highway 395 in El Mirage for a well check at 8:16 p.m., according to Mara Rodriguez, Public Information Officer with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. The location was Lessing Avenue and Shadow Mountain Road, a remote desert area in El Mirage.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered five deceased subjects at the location. Investigators with the department's Specialized Investigations Division responded to the scene to conduct the investigation, said Rodriguez.

The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released when available, according to the department.
