Phoenix, United States - December 22, 2025 12/22/2025 01:00 am GMT-0700 GLENDALE, Ariz. – Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies and firefighters from the cities of Avondale, El Mirage, Sun City, Glendale, and Peoria responded to reports of a collision requiring extrication at the intersection of El Mirage Road and Glendale Avenue around 1:00 a.m. According to information gathered at the scene, deputies arrived to find a driver trapped inside a red sedan with extensive collision damage. Firefighters utilized extrication equipment to cut the unidentified driver out of the vehicle. The driver was transported to a local trauma center in unknown condition. A second patient was located west of the collision scene and was transported to a local trauma center in unknown condition. Deputies established a westbound closure for Glendale Avenue from the Agua Fria bridge and a northbound closure for El Mirage Road from Glendale Avenue while MCSO investigated the collision. A semi truck was seen parked on the shoulder, east of the collision scene. It has not yet been confirmed whether the semi was involved in the collision.
