In a devastating turn of events, a massive building fire at The Hollows apartments in South Carolina has left 21 people displaced and the building a total loss. On the evening of 11th March, firefighters from Columbia Fire Department and Irmo Fire District were dispatched to the scene to combat the 3-alarm fire.

Upon arrival at the complex on Longcreek Drive, crews were met with heavy flames and quickly worked to contain the fire that had spread through the roof. Despite their efforts, the blaze proved difficult to control, prompting additional alarms and resources to be called in.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, but the building sustained significant damage with parts of the roof collapsing. The Red Cross was called in to support the displaced residents as they faced the aftermath of the fire.

The cause of the fire remains unknown and is currently under investigation by the Richland County Fire Marshal’s Office.
