A series of celebration activities were held Monday to mark Longtaitou Festival, or Dragon Head-raising Day in the Taiyuan Ancient County scenic area in north China's Shanxi Province.
Residents enjoyed the grand performance of Shehuo, a traditional carnival-like folk celebration, experienced intangible cultural heritage activities, and savored various foods.
The Longtaitou Festival falls on the second day of the second month in the traditional Chinese calendar. The most notable tradition on the day is getting a haircut.
