A burning vehicle has caused the M1 southbound to shut near Lutterworth, Leicestershire, on March 13.

The filmer said: "I'm a truck driver delivering pharmaceuticals and healthcare products to businesses across the UK. I was travelling north on the M1.

"I had just passed junction 20 for Lutterworth when I noticed a large plume of smoke in the distance. As I got closer I saw it was a grey BMW that had burst into flames and was on fire on the hard shoulder on the southbound side.

"It looked like the occupant, a lone female had got out safely and was on her mobile phone phoning the emergency services from a safe distance.

"Large tailbacks were starting to build up behind."
