A volcanic activity sparked an eruption near the Japanese island archipelago of Iwo Jima.

Aerial footage shows from the Coast Guard vehicle Sea Guardian shows smoke rising from the ocean on March 16.

Nijima, another island that formed only last year, was barely visible due to the recent activity in the area while a new eruption has been confirmed near the island soaking concerns for passing ships.
